About Me

I’m Selah and I am an Illustrator based in Southern California. I am a recent graduate with degrees in Illustration (Academy of Art University, 2026, MA) and Graphic Design (Biola University 2020, BA).

Growing up, I always had a fascination for illustration, but specifically, I had a great love for traditional animation and was what I wanted to study. My undergraduate years introduced me to different digital tools and how to use them with proficiency. My graduate years however were my turning point in wanting to switch from working in animation to illustration. When I was little I loved animation: but I also recalled loving all of those wonderful books, their stories and their illustrations. It was a hidden love that didn't make itself known until my first semester of graduate school. So from then on, I made the switch in focus, and was able to compose illustrations for two different stories in the children’s book format for my final project.

My work represents the small joys of life, and I love illustrating whimsical environments and rich detail. All of my work is digital and done using an iPad. However I have experience in a number of Adobe Programs including Photoshop.
